Periodontitis and diabetes are most common diseases and have some significant relationship. In the present study, the researchers aimed to report that non-surgical periodontal treatment led to regression of type 2 diabetes. Study design A prospective, single-blind, longitudinal randomized clinical trial was carried out includes 90 patients. Inclusion criteria of the patients were type 2 diabetes and generalized chronic periodontitis.
Methods At baseline time interval, removal of supragingival deposits was carried out by the ultrasonic scaler for both treatment and control groups.
