Obese, middle-aged patient for whom I have prescribed SC semaglutide for type 2 diabetes mellitus. After little over two months on semaglutide, he complained of a severe stomach pain, spreading to his back, alongwith nausea. Characteristic abdominal pain, amylase and/or lipase ≥ 3ULN, lack of stone/abnormalities on MRCP scan confirmed pancreatitis. Is it commonly seen with semaglutide?
I have discontinued the semaglutide. Would like to take suggestions. Do you see this?
