Under an initiative to encourage the telemedicine facility, the health ministry and IT ministry had sought an application from one of the Jan Aushadhi Centres of Meerut. The Information Technology (IT) ministry had asked for applications from Jan Aushadhi Centres for an opening of Jan Seva Centres to initiate telemedicine facilities. Under this scheme, the Meerut’s Jan Aushadhi Centre will now act as a centre for people who wish to consult doctors through video conferencing.
According to the scheme, once the consultation is done, a prescription of the doctor can also be downloaded from the computer directly and medicines can be purchased from either medicine centres or from the government or private clinics.
