Despite the advances in the safety of modern drugs and patient monitoring, perioperative cardiovascular complications are still the major sources of morbidity and mortality in noncardiac surgeries. About 200 million patients worldwide are affected each year due to these complications. Recently, there is growing incidence that perioperative management therapies can reduce the cardiovascular risk in patients undergoing noncardiac surgery. The present article thus highlights these management therapies for the prevention of cardiovascular risk.
