. Pilonidal sinus is a skin wound in the buttock region that may be filled with pus or fluid, causing cyst or abscess. It is most common in men and young adults. It includes lancing, conservative treatment such as broad-spectrum antibiotics, phenol injection, and surgery. The optimum treatment should lead to symptomatic relief and better outcomes.
