A retrospective matched cohort study published in Ophthalmology and Therapy compared postoperative corneal higher-order aberrations, densitometry, asphericity, and optical quality after SMILE Pro and laser in situ keratomileusis for myopia. The study included 60 eyes of 30 patients who underwent SMILE Pro and 60 eyes of 30 age-, sex-, and preoperative spherical equivalent-matched patients who underwent laser in situ keratomileusis at Hanamizuki Eye Clinic, Japan, between July 2025 and March 2026. Anterior, posterior, and real corneal higher-order aberrations, spherical aberration, coma, anterior corneal Q value, and central 0โ4 mm corneal densitometry were evaluated using anterior segment optical coherence tomography.
Optical quality was assessed using the modulation transfer function Area Ratio Total and Higher Order with the OPD-Scan III. Compared with laser in situ keratomileusis,โฆ
