Dear all, Recently MCI issued a circular stating that doctors should use generic names while prescribing medicines to the patient. The intention behind this circular is that the: Patient should be able to get the drug any where even in rural areas, It will be economical for the patient as generic drugs come cheaper compared to branded ones. Some of the govt hospitals have generic drug stores working 24 hours. The prescriptions should preferably written in capital letters so as to: Avoid confusion due to bad handwriting of the doctor. Avoid taking something else.

Good for the doctor and the patient too. Practicable procedure goes long way in preventing adverse drug intakes and reactions. In your opinion, what is the practicability of this recommendation? Is it useful or not?
