Introduction: Chronic pruritus is a prevalent yet challenging condition. While causes range from dermatological issues to systemic diseases, a significant portion of cases remain idiopathic. Management often involves a trial-and-error approach, with antihistamines being a mainstay. However, long-term use of these medications can be expensive, particularly in resource-limited settings.
Additionally, chronic pruritus can be significantly influenced by stress, anxiety, and depression, suggesting a role for psychosomatic factors.
