Recently a Physician who had pulmonary embolism a year ago developed Cancer Pancreas later and in spite of treatment died recently. On going through the literature there is no specific mentioning as like deep vein thrombosis connecting gastro intestinal cancers for pulmonary embolism.
Physician’s relative was treated by me for trousseaus sign and diagnosed as liver cancer in 1986. Here the question is if there is family history of Trousseau sign and cancer whether Pulmonary embolism should be considered as a pointer towards GI malignancy or pulmonary embolism to be treated as such a precancerous pointer needs further discussion.
