Pune has reported an outbreak of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), with 101 cases and one fatality. Among the affected individuals, 68 are male and 33 are female, with 16 patients currently on ventilator support. A Chartered Accountant from Pune’s Dhayari area succumbed to GBS on Saturday while receiving treatment in Solapur. He initially experienced diarrhea on January 11 while in Pune and later traveled to his village in Solapur.
After his condition worsened, leaving him unable to move his arms and legs, he was admitted to a private hospital and subsequently transferred to the ICU . Following five days of treatment in intensive care, his condition stabilized, and he was moved to the general ward on Saturday.
