The Punjab government has approved the launch of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna from January, under which every family in the state will be eligible for free medical treatment worth up to Rs. 10 lakh. The decision was taken during a review meeting of the Health Department, with the scheme designed to move the state closer to universal healthcare while easing the financial strain of medical expenses on households. According to an official statement, Punjab will become the first state in the country to offer cashless treatment of up to Rs.
10 lakh to every family. The initiative is intended to provide strong financial protection and ensure timely access to quality healthcare services for all residents.
