Age-related macular degeneration is a leading cause of blindness in elder  population. In the last decade, intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF agents has shown promising results. Multiple clinical trials have evaluated the safety and efficacy of such agents. In this regard, a human monoclonal antibody, Ranibizumab, has shown improved visual outcomes in elderly patients. This article reviews the outcomes of multiple clinical trials with respect to Ranibizumab’s dosing regimen and new techniques.
