The internet is full of people claiming to be the first in doing a particular surgery or being the first person to introduce a technique or being the winner of a particular prize in a medical school. The advertiser often claims he is the best in Cancer Surgery of a particular organ or being the best in something or the other. Maybe much of it is false (maybe there were joint winners of the same prize which the advertiser did not mention. And maybe the advertiser never talked about his complications? Being the first in doing something doesn’t make you the best.
Remember Christian Barnard of South Africa? He was the one who did the first heart transplant (the patient died) and was then lost because other institutions did much better.
