Non-pharmaceutical interventions implemented by the government to prevent COVID-19 transmission have been significantly effective in reducing the spread of the disease. These include strict lockdown and restrictions, such as closing schools, wearing masks, and centralized quarantines. Several studies have reported that most obese patients are at an increased risk of severe disease and increased mortality due to COVID-19. Demographic parameters such as ethnicity and age have a more significant impact on susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection than the NPIs.
