The term “movement disorders” refers to a group of neurological conditions that arise due to increased or decreased movement and can be voluntary or involuntary. Some of these can be quite severe, affecting the patient’s ability to move or speak. Diagnosis of such disorders is difficult and usually based on blood tests, cerebrospinal fluid analyses, or EMG and EEG analyses.
The treatment aims to manage the symptoms and reduce pain as no direct cure is available for these disorders. Test your knowledge of neurology with this Plexiquiz!
