A 4 months old baby was brought for his 3rd dose of DPT-Hib. This baby had BCG hepatitis B 1st dose and OPV zero dose at birth. At one and a half months of age, he was given Pentaxim which has DPaT Hib-Hepatitis B and IPV. This was repeated at two and a half month. Now the baby has come to me for 3rd dose of DPT.
Now this child has already received 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. Which DPT shall I give now? Pentaxim will make 5 doses of Hepatitis B. Can I give the whole cell preparation of DPT which does not have IPV.
