A 32 y/o G2P2 female patient visited the clinic for the advice on an intrauterine device (IUD) for contraception. The patient had pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) after her first pregnancy which subsided completely. The patient had her second pregnancy a year later i.e. two years ago.

Now the patient wants to proceed with IUD. Is levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system the better option considering that patient previously had PID? Please give your suggestions.
