A 28 year old male non-hypertensive and non-diabetic patient suffering from undifferentiated schizophrenia was admitted because of relapse of psychotic symps. He was kept on olanzapine 20mg and amisulpiride 100mg was added considering his negative symps. After 30 days of treatment, today morning he was seen with reddened conjunctiva (b/l), difficulty in opening both eyes, the eyelashes bilaterally clumped together with minute blood clots. Small clots also visible near the inner canthus.
There is no h/o any ocular trauma. Patient is normotensive, afebrile. How to approach and manage? Are these antipsychotics anyway related to such occurance or its a de novo ocular condition?
