Family of a woman who died of dengue at the renowned hospital in Noida went on a rampage outside the hospital and thrashed a doctor, alleging medical negligence on Thursday. Agitated family members protested at the hospital for several hours and even roughed up a doctor who was on duty on Wednesday night. The casualty medical officer also received fractures in his left hand and right leg. The matter took a severe turn on Thursday morning when the hospital staff went on a strike in order to protest against the assault on the doctor, which resulted in disruption of OPD and emergency services.
Hospital gates were closed and the staff refused to attend any patient. Large number of patients were also turned away from hospital.
