Risk stratification is the process of categorizing patients based on their likelihood of developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using clinical factors such as age, blood pressure, lipid levels, diabetes, smoking status, and existing cardiovascular disease. This assessment helps guide the intensity of preventive therapy. Based on the risk category, specific lipid targets particularly for low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) are recommended, with more aggressive LDL-C reduction advised for patients at high or very high cardiovascular risk to lower the incidence of cardiovascular events. We bring you an exclusive session on “ Risk Stratification and Lipid Targets ” by eminent cardiologist Dr Suresh Sagarad , on March 11 th , 2026, 6:00 PM IST onwards .
