In a shocking case of mob violence against the medical community, 2 doctors and numerous nursing staff and students were brutalised on 28.4.16 by an enraged mob of localities and relatives of a critical patient who passed away earlier that day. All this while the security ran away and the police stood by impotently . This happened in my college where I graduated. A 24 year old man was brought to the hospital at 3 pm complaining of stomach pain and fever. On finding that he had a feeble rapid pulse and low BP he was immediately admitted and stabilised in the causality.
The extremely critical nature of the patient's condition was fully explained to the patients relatives and they were given the option of taking the patient to a higher centre.
