In the wake of the brutal assault on resident doctors in Kolkata, the Supreme Court has refused to pass any urgent judgments after the strike was called off. Earlier, the plea which asked safety and security of doctors in government hospitals across the country was accepted by the supreme court. Now, as per the judges, "Strike is over now, there is no point in passing any order, as the matter was listed due to urgency. Now, it can be passed to the appropriate bench for further decisions".
According to the plea, the doctors had to face severe altercations ahead of the Kolkata incident where both patients and doctors had to suffer.
