A surgeon in Shanghai, China, has successfully performed robot-assisted surgery on a patient 5,000 km away. In the one-hour-long surgery, the surgeon removed a lung tumor from a patient who was hospitalized in Kashgar, a town in western China. The surgical robot was developed domestically in China. The chest hospital from which the surgeon performed the surgery is the country's first health facility to perform robot-assisted surgery on the chest. Reflecting on this surgery, the surgeon highlighted that robot-assisted surgery allows patients to receive high-quality treatment in their hometowns without the need to travel to big cities.
The trend of robot-assisted surgeries is also gaining momentum in India. Recently, a surgeon in Gurgaon performed a remote surgery on a patient in Delhi, 40 km away. Did you find this article interesting? Share your views by commenting below! Source :โฆ
