Internationally, it is well-known fact that " Depression is a grossly undertreated disorder, and antidepressants are over prescribed".It is common in general practice to prescribe to this combination without proper assessment whether it is a case of depression or anxiety or simply insomnia. Recently government issued a ban on one antidepressant and benzodiazepine drug combination that is Imipramine + Diazepam. It is a welcome move.​ There are other antidepressant and benzodiazepine combinations marketed, and widely over prescribed.

eg: Amitryptiline+Chlordiazepoxide, Escitalopram+Clonazepam, Escitalopram+Etizolam, Desvenlafaxine+Clonazepam, Paroxetine+Clonazepam, etc. Why should not all these be banned?
