The incidences of domestic violence are on a constant rise in our country. These mostly remain unreported due to the hesitation from the sufferers. As doctors, we sometimes do suspect that certain injuries could be because of domestic violence. In such cases, I feel it is our moral responsibility to report it.

What does the law suggest? Can we report such cases without the consent of the patient? As a doctor, what would you do if you suspect domestic violence?
