Maybe other professionals do or don't show income from other sources in tax returns but in the case of doctors it  could be more or less insufficient. As in public health sector, the example of another source of income could be like honorarium received in training, medical fee from the issuance of fitness certificate or incentives in operations viz. tubectomy or vasectomy etc. But this source of income practically remains hidden or few may show it income while filling returns.

In some cases, the income credited from bank interests may or not be added in salary statement which may later on detected in scrutiny by income tax department which asks to pay tax with fine. Should we doctors be straightforward and honest to show the income generated and received from other sources than salary?
