Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multifactorial and complex condition, precipitating the formation of autoantibodies due to the interactions between environmental triggers and genetic factors. Though several pathogenic autoantibodies have been associated with the pathophysiology of the disease, conclusive data is far out of reach.
