Various forms of bariatric surgery offer patients significant, long-term weight loss, control of comorbidity, and improved long-term mortality. 1 The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) data from 2014–2018 indicated sleeve gastrectomy (45.9%) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (38.3%) as the two most commonly performed procedures.
