The United Arab Emirates A recent two-week study on the evaluation of Sotrovimab’s efficacy conducted in Abu Dhabi showed promising results with 100% prevention of deaths and only 1% admitted to the ICU after being infected with COVID-19 infection. Sotrovimab is a monoclonal antibody (mAB) that had received emergency use authorization (EUA) for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 infection. Abu Dhabi implemented the use of sotrovimab for patients with a risk of progressing to severe COVID-19 and found promising results after two weeks into its clinical evaluation.
In this evaluation in June, 6,715 COVID-19 patients, including adults, pregnant women and children above 12 years of age, showed 100% recovery with the usage of sotrovimab.
