Case presentation A 67-year-old man with mild dementia presented in the clinic with a complaint of abdominal pain for the last 48 hours. He is suffering from an end-stage renal disease for which peritoneal dialysis was recently started. The patient’s wife mentioned that he is reusing one similar cap to close off the peritoneal dialysis catheter.
The bioanalytical examination of the catheter fluid showed a cloudy appearance with the presence of gram-positive cocci. * This Case Challenge is from the Editorial Team of Docplexus and is meant for educational purposes only.
