A 67-year old man with mild dementia is presented in the clinic for the complaint of abdominal pain in the last 48 hours. He is suffering from an end-stage renal disease for which peritoneal dialysis is recently started. The patient’s wife mentioned that he is reusing the one similar cap to close-off the peritoneal dialysis catheter.

The bioanalytical examination of the catheter fluid showed a cloudy appearance with the presence of gram-positive cocci.
