A team of doctors in Madurai has successfully removed a groundnut from a one-year-old girl’s bronchus and saved her from developing lung compression. The young patient was from Bengaluru and suffered difficulty in breathing for over a month. Her mother had doubt that her child had accidentally inhaled a groundnut. The patient was referred to the ENT department at a private hospital in Madurai for treatment. An ENT specialist and a pediatrician at the hospital suspected a foreign body lodged in the patient’s airway and ordered a CT-thorax scan.
