In a rare surgical blunder, a surgeon operated leg of a patient with a minor head injury. The case was highlighted in media enforcing people to think how non-serious and the negligent doctor can be. The administration has set up an inquiry panel and the doctor has been debarred from doing surgery without supervision. My query in operation theatre apart from the surgeon a full team comprising of an anesthetist, doctor who assists the surgeon and staff nurses are also present. What is their responsibility?

How they can escape from their responsibility. No doubt, the surgeon is mainly responsible but, If other team members were vigilant, perhaps this joke of the profession which is made now could be avoided. What is your opinion on this case? Kindly share.
