Multiple myeloma, a systemic malignant disease of the plasma cell, has a global incidence of 6–7 cases per 1,00,000 population per year. Approximately 85% of patients with multiple myeloma are more than 65 years of age, while less than 2% are below 30 years. Furthermore, the early detection and diagnosis of multiple myeloma are difficult due to its varied clinical features.
