To protest against the central government's decision to go ahead with the proposed National Medical Commission Bill (NMC Bill) that seeks to replace the Medical Council of India (MCI), nearly 2.7 Lacs doctors of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) are planning to hold a national satyagraha all over the country on November 16. Besides, the association is also annoyed over the indifferent attitude of the government over the association's long pending demands.

In fact, the association had planned to organize The National Satyagraha on November 16 last year, but it was abandoned as the government formed an inter-ministerial committee to look into the long pending demands of the association.
