Nobel prize is one of the most prestigious award bestowed upon individuals as a recognition of the extraordinary work they have performed in their field of study. This year the noble prize in Medicine was shared by William C. Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura from USA and Japan respectively for their discovery of novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites, and Youyou Tu from China for her discovery of novel therapy against Malaria. This is the first time a Chinese citizen has been awarded Noble prize in Science.
