Tirzepatide received FDA approval for chronic weight management in adults with BMI ≥27 kg/m 2 or BMI ≥30 kg/m 2 last year. The latest studies to be presented at the European Congress on Obesity have evaluated the effectiveness of tirzepatide in individuals with varying durations of overweight or obesity with or without diabetes. In the studies, tirzepatide effectively reduced body weight in overweight or obese individuals with or without type 2 diabetes, regardless of disease duration, compared to placebo groups (Table 1). Similarly, tirzepatide significantly decreased waist circumference in the participants across all disease duration categories.
