A study of 22 male patient s with ankylosed knees in full extension due to hemophilia evaluated outcomes after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using quadriceps tendon Z-lengthening, staged osteotomy, and soft-tissue release . At follow-up, patients experienced significant improvement in knee function: KSS increased from 75.1 to 148.4, ROM improved from 0° to 86.1°, WOMAC scores decreased from 28.1 to 10.8, and VAS pain scores dropped from 2.86 to 0.73 (all p<0.001) . Despite moderate ROM recovery and a relatively high complication rate, TKA enhances mobility, flexion-extension, and quality of life in this challenging population.
