A 17-year-old Chinese badminton player collapsed and died during a match on Sunday in Indonesia. After receiving initial treatment from a medic at the court, he was transported to a hospital. Doctors at the hospital found no pulse and treated him for about three hours. The patient was then transferred to another hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest. However, video footage of the incident went viral on Chinese social media. Several viewers noticed the medic waited nearly 40 seconds before reaching the collapsed young player.

According to the regulations of international badminton tournaments, medical teams must get permission from the referee before entering the court.
