Recently published TARDIS trial (Triple anti platelets in reducing dependency in ischaemic stroke) didnt show any advantage of clopidogrel, Aspirin plus Dypyridamole over recommended regime of single antiplatelets, on the outcome at 90 days. There is chance of increase bleeding risk in triple drug group.
Earlier trials of Aspiring plus dipyridamole in stroke patients showed increase risk of MI in view of coronary steal phenomenon which made this combination less prefered in Indian scenarion.No point in increasing number of drugs to improve efficacy is the basic lesson learnt .
