Following the mass leave by doctors across the state, the Bombay High Court on Tuesday ordered the protesting resident doctors to resign if they fear for their safety or resume their duties immediately. Furthermore, the Maharashtra Medical Education Minister has given an ultimatum to striking doctors and asked them to return to work by Wednesday late evening or lose six months salary. Directing resident doctors of government-run hospitals for resorting mass leave to protest against assaults by patients relatives, the Bombay High Court has ordered the hospital management to take serious action in accordance with law against such as they were disobeying earlier court undertakings.
