The Uttar Pradesh health ministry has initiated action against 35 government doctors over alleged lapses in attendance and duty, including dismissal proceedings for 26 doctors accused of prolonged unauthorized absence. The action followed a departmental review of cases involving prolonged absence from duty and alleged dereliction of responsibilities at government health facilities. Officials said the dismissal orders were issued after the relevant departmental proceedings were completed.
Disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against nine other doctors for allegedly disobeying directions from senior officials and showing negligence in carrying out their duties.
