The Central and Peripheral nervous system regulates the activity of expelling urine in a coordinated and controlled manner from the urinary bladder. Neurological disease in the brain, suprasacral spinal cord, the sacral spinal cord or the peripheral nervous system can lead to bladder and sphincter dysfunction. Current article deals with the management of lower urinary tract dysfunction in neurological disease. Progression of fixed nervous system injuries may lead to diseases like Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and peripheral neuropathy.

A holistic approach should be considered for treating lower urinary tract dysfunction because the patient may suffer from a combination of problems including urinary, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
