Synopsis Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) causes acute and chronic morbidity in pregnant women. Pregnant women are four to five times more prone to VTE than non-pregnant women. This association is mainly a result of hypercoagulable state during pregnancy. A thorough study is needed for a better understanding of the disease; thus, this study highlights the incidence, risk factors, and mortality of VTE during pregnancy.
