Videocast Self-Management in Heart Failure Heart failure (HF) is common, costly, and characterized by low self-care, poor quality of life, and frequent early readmissions despite optimized pharmacotherapy. In this single‑blind randomized controlled trial from an Iranian HF clinic, 38 adults with class II–III HF and ejection fraction <50% were allocated to routine care alone (n = 19) or routine care plus four weekly 10‑minute videocasts covering HF basics, medications, lifestyle, and warning signs, delivered via patients’ or caregivers’ devices and followed for 12 weeks.
Of 35 patients analysed (18 control, 17 intervention), baseline self‑care (EHFScB‑9; lower = better) and quality‑of‑life scores were similar between groups, but by two months post‑intervention, mean self‑care scores were 17.70 ± 4.51 in the videocast arm versus 27.66 ± 8.19 in controls (mean difference 9.96 points; P =…
