A 34-year-old female presented with weight loss for last 2 years. She was investigated and diabetes, TB or another chronic ailment was r/o. She has very stormy past. History of post partum severe hemorrhage leading to hysterectomy. Cholecystectomy for GB stones a few years back and ICU adm x last month for 1 week for severe sepsis; total appetite loss and depressed too. Blood transfusion for anemia (Hb 8) and IV antibiotics and supportive measures in ICU management. The investigations are: HB 11, WBC normal, Platelet normal. Na 134, k 3.6, cr.0.6, ca 8.2, p 3.5, rbs 110, sgpt 77, sgot 69, alp 206, bilirubin normal.
IgG, IgA, IgM normal. UR c/s E Coli . Thyroid profile normal. HIV and HBsAg -ve Advice for UTI rx. Hepatoprotectives and appetite stimulants; was followed after 2 wks.wt fell to 1 kg further. RBS repeated was 142. So GTT was advised, the result is awaited. Appetite now…
