A 27-year-old woman suffered a motor vehicle accident and injured her left leg. She complained of inability to stand for a longer duration, lethargy, and weakness in her left leg.

A biopsy of the gastrocnemius muscle was performed after three months of initial presentation which showed nuclei condensed into aggregates and angular atrophic fibers (Cover image).
