I often have patients who ask me for a second opinion and they ask me to comment about the advice which they have received from their earlier IVF doctor. Sometimes I cringe when I see what they've been told to do by the doctor. For example, we have women who have a completely normal uterus, but just because they have failed two IVF cycles, the doctor advises them to do surrogacy. Now I think this is actually an abuse of a treatment option, and just because it is available doesn't mean it should be utilized when simpler and less expensive options are equally effective.

However, you can get away with fooling some of the people some of the time, but you can't continue fooling all of the people all the time.
