Can a single doctor (government medical officer or private medical practitioner) issue a physical fitness certificate? This is relevant as the said certificate is a must for joining any service, work/firm, medical institution, insurance schemes, and even for admission as the inmate in jails. In such a scenario, people usually approach a government medical officer holding an administrative post and he will alone examine the person and issue the certificate collecting a nominal fee (with or without receipt). As we are all aware, the certificates include vision testing, hearing testing along with few body measurements, systemic examination and vitals; Is it possible for one doctor (MBBS Degree) or RMP to confidently examine for all these parameters and issue a correct certificate?
