As the coronavirus hits several nations including India, the medical fraternity worldwide is striving to understand the virus, so that it can be countered. In a similar attempt, the WHO has recently published a report containing a review of 56,000 COVID-19 cases. The report has revealed several major avenues of the disease. The virus has a 96% similarity to the bat SARS-like coronavirus strain BatCov RaTG13 . Just like the later virus, the RNA of the COVID-19 virus encodes structural, non-structural, and accessory proteins. Additionally, the catalytic sites of the non-structural proteins of the COVID-19 are highly conserved , making it slightly easy to tackle.
